Animoto is a simple way of creating a video for you by putting together your images with music. You can either create a 30-second short video for free, or a full length video for a cost. Single videos cost $3/video or you can choose an all-access pass with unlimited videos and downloads for $30/year. Animoto Productions was the brainchild of a bunch of techies and film producers using a cinematic artificial intelligence technology. Each video is customized and uses popular post production techniques that are used in television and film. The quality of the videos made are truly impressive and would normally take quite some time to create manually. The randomness and effects of the transitions are superb and the end result is easily better than a video that a typical non technical person could create.
Here is a video I made of the pictures I took at the Techcrunch August Capital Party.

Rhythm NewMedia's Vsnax is a free video app for the Iphone or Ipod Touch that allows you to watch the latest video clips. I learned about Vsnax at the Techcrunch August Capital party as it was one of the sponsors who had a demo booth. The videos available through Vsnax are updated throughout the day and features clips from AccuWeather, CBS News, CNet News, VH1, and more. Basically it provides you with video from more than 20 premium media partners so I guess it doesn't hurt to have it on your Iphone.

File sharing and storage is a pretty important and useful feature that does not always get enough attention. Finding a easy way to share files and to backup files can be a painful task sometimes whether for corporate or personal use. Dropbox looks like it could a successful tool that takes care of that in a easy and effortless manner. Dropbox is a Y Combinator company founded by a bunch of MIT computer science guys. it allows for simple file sharing between computers and also among different people online. It has a very nice user interface that keeps track of contant updates which is very web 2.0 and can be useful to keep track of what is getting updated recently. The part I like is that it has a version control built in. If you delete files by accident, you can easily retrieve it or if you make edits and change your mind, you can roll back to a previous version. The product is still in private beta, but you can sign up for the beta test at their website at http://getdropbox.com.

This is a video demo of the Google Reader Beta for the Iphone. You can access it from your Iphone at google.com/reader/i/. Although Google isn't exactly a startup, the Google Reader app is still just an App for the Iphone and it can be useful or it can suck. If you are not familiar with what the Google Reader is, it is basically an Inbox for the web as described by Chris Wetherell in the demo of the regular Google Reader application.
